Desktop Experiences

Glass Desktop Box currently contains 16 complete one-click presets, 30 curated image collections with 414 backgrounds, and 201 silent motion backgrounds. These are three distinct content groups, not one combined count.

Each preset combines a coordinated wallpaper, three Organizer Boxes, three Workspace Boxes, individual box images, colors, transparency and image-intensity settings. It is a starting configuration, not a fixed screenshot.

The application asks before making changes. Existing boxes and their contents can be retained and restyled, or the preset boxes can be added. Existing files are not replaced by applying a visual preset.

Yes. The included silent animations and compatible personal MP4 videos can be selected as desktop or box backgrounds. They play as continuous loops and can be removed or replaced again.

Yes. Wallpaper, box background, color, alpha transparency, image intensity, size and arrangement remain independently adjustable for every box.

No. A Desktop Experience is primarily a local visual configuration. Remote Desktop Box and ProBox share the selected workspace and files; they do not silently overwrite another participant’s personal desktop design.

Installed presets, images and animations work locally without a permanent internet connection. Static images use fewer resources; video impact depends on resolution, codec and hardware, and playback can be disabled at any time.

Existing boxes can be preserved when a preset is applied, and the previous wallpaper can be restored. Boxes can be positioned across supported monitors; exact wallpaper behavior follows the operating system and the installed Glass Desktop Box version.

Absolutely. Desktop Experiences are designed to enhance any existing workflow. They change the visual environment without affecting how files, folders or applications on your desktop behave.

The included video animations are predominantly supplied at a source resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels (720p); individual animations may use different dimensions. Included static images have asset-specific dimensions. Unless a specific asset is expressly described otherwise, uniform Full HD (1080p), 2K or 4K quality is not promised for all included media.

For an animated desktop background, the application uses the original supplied source and scales it to the selected monitor. To reduce resource use, animated Box backgrounds use working frames 960 pixels wide; the current version processes included video animations at 12 frames per second and no more than 120 decoded frames per playback sequence. Detail and fluidity can therefore differ depending on the display area, hardware, graphics driver, monitor resolution and the number of animations running at once. Website previews are compressed separately for fast loading and are not a quality reference for playback in the application.

Glass Desktop Box does not impose a fixed limit on the number of local Boxes, but the number of animations that can run smoothly at the same time depends on your computer. On a suitably equipped modern PC, roughly 10 to 20 animated Boxes together with an animated desktop background can often be practical; this is a guide, not a performance guarantee. Processor performance, available memory, graphics hardware and driver, monitor resolution, the size and content of the animations, and other programs running at the same time all matter. Free drive space is also required to store the media, but it does not by itself guarantee smooth playback. On older or less powerful systems, use fewer simultaneous animations or static backgrounds.
